Subject: Helicorder updates on a web site

I've worked out a way that someone running an Internet-connected
PC with a continuously updating helicorder display could periodically
put a copy of the computer screen on a web site.

Alan Jones' AmaSeis data acquisition program keeps a helicorder
display on the screen, and other programs probably do as well.
I found a free program named SnapShot that one can set up to
create a BMP image of the screen every hour (or other interval
of your choice). I also found a free program, BMP2GIF that can
run in a DOS Batch file and convert the file to GIF format. All
that is left is to ftp the file to a web site from within the same
batch file. The batch file would be scheduled to run a few
minutes after each screen capture.

I don't have AmaSeis running now, so can't try this out. If
anyone else want to, I can post the two programs mentioned.
