Hi Everyone,

I have a new WinSDR beta release ready for people too try out. You can
download the new WinSDR.exe file from here
http://www.seismicnet.com/winsdr/betarelease.html. The beta release web page
has been updated with information on what's new with WinSDR. Here are the
highlights:

I added code to try and detect teleseismic events. If this feature is
enabled,WinSDR will look for the 10 to 20 second period surface waves that
are received from shallow teleseismic events. You obviously will need a
sensor that can pickup the low frequency surface waves for this feature to
work correctly.

WinSDR can now send data over a TCP/IP connection. The system attached to
the A/D board (or SDR Server) can be enabled to act as a data server and
other system running WinSDR can be configured to act as a client to receive
the A/D data from the WinSDR server.

The other new feature is a GPS data pass-through mode and station location
averaging. This new feature effects the firmware on the A/D board, WinSDR
and WinPlotGPS. To use this feature you will need to upgrade the firmware on
the A/D board to version 2.5
(http://www.seismicnet.com/winsdr/upgrade.html). The new firmware as a new
mode that allows it to send both A/D data and GPS data to WinSDR at the same
time. If enabled, WinSDR can average the position data from the GPS
receiver. The user can then update the sensor's location in the channel
setting dialog box with the averaged location data. Please note that this
feature will not work with SDR Server.

WinPlotGPS has been modified so it can use the GPS pass-through mode of the
A/D board and the new TCP/IP server feature in WinSDR. WinPlotGPS, placed in
the TCP/IP client mode, can receive the GPS data from a WinSDR server
system. WinPlotGPS can be on the same system as WinSDR or an other system on
your LAN or over the Internet.

One last thing. I fixed a problem with shutting down the system and WinSDR.
The program should now respond correctly, by not asking the user if it's OK
to close the program, when the system is shutting down.

Regards,
Larry

.
